Batch travel order
A monthly summary of domestic business trips in a single document, instead of a separate travel order for every individual trip.
What it is
Act No. 283/2002 Coll. on travel reimbursement does not directly define the term "batch travel order" (hromadný cestovný príkaz). It's an established accounting/administrative practice: several domestic business trips by one person within a calendar month are grouped into a single document instead of separate ones, with one shared header (employer, traveller, month).
The statutory requirement under § 3 still applies: every individual trip ("leg") within the batch order must have its own place of departure and arrival, place of work or negotiation, duration and mode of transport, exactly as if it were issued as a separate order.
Who it suits
In practice, a batch travel order is used mainly by people who have no employment contract with the company and who grant/approve their own travel reimbursement:
- Sole trader (SZČO): on a domestic business trip related to their business.
- Company director with no employment relationship with the company.
- Partner/shareholder working for the company outside an employment relationship.
For regular employees under an employment contract, a separate travel order is generally still issued for each trip.
What the document contains
- A shared header: employer, traveller, calendar month.
- A list of the individual trips (legs) for that month, each with its own place of departure/arrival, place of work, duration and mode of transport.
- A summary settlement: per diem by time band (§ 5), plus the base allowance and fuel allowance for a private vehicle where applicable (§ 7).
- The total reimbursement for the whole month in one place, instead of dozens of separate documents.
How it works in the app
In the app you create a batch order for the chosen month and traveller, then add the individual domestic trips as rows (legs): for each one you enter the places, time and transport, and the app calculates per diem by time band and any private-vehicle allowance for each trip individually and summed for the month. Same calculation engine as a single travel order, just with one shared header.
The exact requirements for a batch order aren't explicitly set out in law. It's an established practice, so check with your accountant before relying on it.
